The outstanding high quality of the drama is an inspiration to both participants and audiences. Extra-Curricular drama often takes place in conjunction with King Edward’s School as there are currently at least two joint productions per year. The Junior Production, involving younger members of both schools, takes place in the Autumn Term, with auditions and rehearsals beginning in September. Similarly, the Senior Production has auditions in September with rehearsals every week until January, when five performances take place. Members of the Sixth Form have the opportunity to help with productions on a Friday afternoon through Stage Crew, where they can become involved with Scenic Art, Costume, Lighting, Design and Stage Management.
Previous Productions have included Skellig, Les Petits Rats, Hairspray, Les Miserables, West Side Story and Fame.
There are also junior and senior drama clubs and dramatic societies which take place at lunchtimes which girls have the option to attend.
